This stunning forest reserve is 240 ha (593 ac) total with a working dairy farm on 24 of those hectares and is near the headwaters of the Pachijal river in Nanegalito parish.
By contract MCF manages the property to conserve its important flora and fauna, developing a pilot experience and transition away from unsustainable dairy production to birding, nature and educational tourism. In 2019 we began the restauration of 13 ha (32 acres) with native species seedlings produced in the nursery we manage there.
Puyucunapi is at average 2000 m.a.s.l (6700 ft) and is located near the Paseo del Quinde Ecoroute and the Tandayapa Cluster of forests we own and protect. The location offers warm days and cool nights ideal for relaxing in front of the fireplace.

Puyucunapi—in the clouds in Quichua—is the perfect base for birders who want to explore northwest Pichincha with a little more privacy, independence and comfort as compared to the normal lodge or hotel experience. Please write for pricing and availability.
If you can´t stay long, the hummingbird garden and fruit feeders are open for day visits.
